Collab New York City

Page history last edited by Marc Levin 7 years, 8 months ago

The Collab Foundation is a 5500 sq ft architecturally built-out workspace located in Hudson Square (just West of Soho) in New York City.

We are a community of artists, designers, scientists, entrepreneurs and others from a variety of interdisciplinary pursuits working individually and collectively to help one another achieve our goals.

We are currently looking for individuals who would like to join our community and contribute to and benefit from our cooperative space.

The space is divided into a series of studios and equipped with tools and fabrication equipment – there’s a wood shop, 3d Printer, laser cutter, printing studio with screen and digital printing, multimedia conference room with Apple TV, photo studio, writers' room, conference room as well as a large collaborative central space with community tables. Our collaborative is not merely a place to create, but an impressive space to meet with clients.

We collectively maintain our space, and our monthly membership fees offset the cost of rent and electricity.

In addition, our group receives discounts on supplies and materials, hosts monthly events to showcase our work, and a Sunday bizarre in the space to sell our creations.

Collab is a space to work and design and prototype.  Our members and projects have been featured in Paper Magazine, Architectural Record, The Daily Green, CNN, ABC News, Wall Street Journal, NY Times, Vogue, WWD, NPR, ID Magazine, Wired Magazine and have worked with companies such as Nickelodeon, MTV, PBS, Guggenheim Foundation, Sony Pictures, and HBO.
