The Workantile Exchange in Downtown Ann Arbor

Workantile Exchange is a members-only 3000-foot facility in the heart of downtown, on Main Street between Huron and Washington. The website is here: http://workantileexchange.com

The Workantile Exchange space is different from coworking spaces in many other cities: it's focused more on the community of independent workers not for renting desks to small businesses. There are only common spaces and reservable meeting and training rooms - no private desks at all. It's a modern guild hall for the independent worker; a place to come together, get some work done and hatch some projects (startup companies, consulting associations, open-source projects, nonprofit support, government and geek and artistic collaborations) with other multi-talented individuals.

The group is open to independent workers *of all kinds* (not just the computer and tech crowd) and is looking to engage independents in a wide variety of professions: writers, artists, filmmakers, makers, scientists, consultants, markerters, etc.
