Hi! I'm Angie Garey.
I started a business incubator in January after the office suite that I already happened to be in became available. It only took a couple of months to realize that I had perfect space for co-working.
Unlike other incubators, I’m not looking to become a vulture investor, just an incredibly effective small business resource for those who must be cost conscious.
How I came up with this
I had worked as a temp receptionist for a summer while in college at a science incubator (1992) and thought it would be a great idea for small businesses to have shared resources, reception, and administrative help. I almost started this business about 8 years ago since the town I live in built a business park. After my husband and I checked it out, it just was not possible.
Why me?
This is a model that plays to my strengths as a perpetual helper to customers, clients, and coworkers while in all of the sales jobs that I've had. However, in those roles as employee, I met my constant nemesis, Peter Principle, once promoted to a manager. I'm not a paperwork and reports person, I'm a people person, so PP always won out.
Now that I have the Beltline Business Center (yes, the BBC), an incubator/co-working center, I've reduced the paperwork with database systems run by members and I get to work directly as a resource for motivation, ideas, marketing, and more.
What is it?
BBC is membership-based, fully-furnished space. Members can enjoy free coffee service, wi-fi (2 T1s), commercial furnishings, and private meeting space for up to 250, equipment and supplies included, possibly 24x7 access, and much more included. Rates are between $50 and $200 monthly. Drop-ins are $25 per day.
My newest member is my brother! He’s a CPA, MBA, and international business expert. He’s most recently worked for several years as a consultant with Manpower International travelling all over Asia, India, and Europe!
I have “fired” a couple of website designers already and I’m rethinking my site strategy, so my site’s not up (ARGH!) but it’s beltlinebusinesscenter.com.
Future plans: a reading/lending library, regular motivation, accountability, sustainable practices and masterminding clubs, webinars with smart board, recording studio, online reservation system, and more copy/mailing center equipment.
The BBC would honor any co-working “visa” with a deposit and credit card authorization during the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and an email or phone call in advance.

This page needs a major edit to fit with Coworking Visa details.
